Update your Website! Important Security Patch in WordPress 3.8.3

An important WordPress update was released on January 6, 2022 – version 3.8.3. This update includes a number of patches for security vulnerabilities. What does that mean exactly? Simply put, your site could is open to a malware infection. That’s why it’s important to update the core software as soon as possible.

What are the Security Concerns?

The security concerns addressed in this version include an issue with stored XSS through post slugs, Object injection with multisite, and SQL injection vulnerabilities in both WP_Query and WP_Meta_Query.

What Should you Do About it?

  2. Update the WP core, all plugins and themes
  3. Test layout & functionality on front end of website
